Day 1: Kigali to Akagera National Park (Travel time: ~2.5 hours)
After a relaxed breakfast at your hotel, our safari guide will collect you in the afternoon for your journey to Akagera National Park. The 2.5-hour drive features winding landscapes perfect for photography stops—just ask your guide when you’d like to pause.
Upon park arrival, enjoy a brief game drive before checking into your accommodation for lunch. At 4:30 PM, take a boat trip on Lake Ihema to observe hippos and crocodiles in the water, plus buffalo and elephants along the shores. Return to the hotel of your choice (we can also be of help for the recommendations) located in Akagera National park for dinner and overnight stay. Meals included: Lunch & Dinner
Day 2: Full Game Drive & Return to Kigali
Begin your day with breakfast at 6 AM before departing with your driver-guide for a full-day game drive through Akagera’s magnificent savannah. This 5-7 hour adventure offers opportunities to spot elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, topis, and the recently reintroduced lions, alongside numerous bird species.
Enjoy your packed picnic lunch during the game drive before departing the park. You’ll arrive back in Kigali by evening. Meals included: Breakfast & Lunch
